Catholic leaders hid mass sex abuse
Top Roman Catholic leaders
in Pennsylvania covered up decades of child sex abuse involving more
than a thousand victims and hundreds of priests, according to agrand jury report released
August 14.
The nearly 900-page document accuses church officials in Pennsylvania of
routinely placing the image of their church over the welfare of children in their care.
The allegations of child rape and more stretch back to the 1940s include several disturbing accounts — including one of a 1970s pedophile and child pornography ring
of priests in Pittsburgh who whipped their victims and took photos of one boy as he posed naked as if on the cross. One priest in Southwestern Pennsylvania is said to have sexually abused a boy in a confessional. An Allentown,
priest allegedly forced a boy to give him oral sex and then cleansed the child’s mouth with holy water. Two priests impregnated teens
-- one urged an abortion, the other arranged a secret marriage.
In all, more than 300 priests were singled out Dozens of church officials — including some now in prominent posts nationally — were also named.

Insurance for alien abduction?
This is not
a joke. You can actually buy insurance to cover you if you are abducted by an alien. This insurance has been available since the 1980s through The Saint Lawrence Agency in Florida. The policy, which costs as little as $24.95 will provide you with medical and sarcasm coverage up to $10 million There's even a double indemnity clause for $20 million in the event of alien conjugal visits, resulting pregnancies or where the abductee is regarded as a nutritional food source. You can actually buy a policy and it will pay out when you prove you were abducted. And, believe it or not, the company has paid policyholders in the past. There is one catch though – the benefit is paid out one dollar a year, over the next 10 million years.

and was granted Russian citizenship in 2016. He is a special envoy to improve ties with the U.S.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that he will be unpaid.
His responsibility will be to “facilitate relations between Russia and the United States in the humanitarian field, including cooperation in culture, arts, public and youth exchanges.” November 2016, Mr Seagal visited the Russian president and was granted Russian citizenship.
Seagal's grandmother was born in Vladivostok.
Woman uses ESP on mountain lion
On July 8 a woman walked into her house to find a mountain lion in her living room. Lauren Taylor of Ashland, Oregon, claims she used mental telepathy to lead
the cat peacefully out of her house and back to its natural habitat.
When
Lauren Taylor walked intothe room,
the cat was startled and it tried flee through a window, but it was closed so
she hid behind a couch and eventually was quiet.
Later,
Ms. Taylor bravely checked on the cat and found it asleep.
Ms. Taylor relates: "When I made noise, she woke up and looked startled so I consciously raised my frequency, gazed lovingly into her eyes, and communicated using feline-speak eye blinking to calm her."
Amazingly this worked.
"I gazed lovingly then blinked hard and then she did it back! Then, she went back to sleep. Once the energy shifted, she calmed down. I sent telepathic pictures of the routes out of the house via open doors and the route out the backyard, across the creek, through an open field, and back up into the hills. We got guidance that the way to get her to leave without panicking was through drumming. We started drumming. She roused and knew just what to do.... walking out through the open doors, through the yard, across the creek, and through the empty field behind us exactly as we had shown her."
Hidden "Henge" found in Ireland
In Europe this summer, a drought and high-flying drone revealed an unknown "Stonehenge." The huge monument in New-grange, Ireland, has remained hidden for centuries.
In the middle of a farmer's sprawling field of wheat, the monument is a series of dark markings in the shape of a perfect circle as wide as one and a half football fields. As
archeologist Stephen Davis explains, it's the remnants of a henge, an ancient center built around 5000 years ago.
"In the Neolithic Age, it was absolutely hopping," Davis says. "There were loads of people here doing things."
Similar to England's famous Stonehenge, this Irish version was built using wood
instea of stone. Over thousands of years they decomposed, leaving only prints of fertilized soil visible when a heatwave wilts the crops.
Decriminalize marijuana nationally?
U.S. Senator Tim Kaine joined Senator Chuck Schumer to introduce a bill to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level, leaving the decision about legalization in states’ hands. Specifically, the
Marijuana Freedom and Opportunity Act removes marijuana from the list of scheduled substances under the Controlled Substances Act, effectively decriminalizing it at the federal level. The legislation allows states to continue to decide how they will treat marijuana possession. The legislation, however, does not change federal authorities’ ability to prevent trafficking from states where marijuana is legal to states where is not.
California
to reign in Facebook
Lawmakers in California have introduced a sweeping privacy bill to the state legislature that would give Californians unprecedented control over their data and rein in the power of
Facebook and other social media companies.
Introduced in the State Assembly, the bill would allow California residents to find out what information businesses and data brokers collect about them, where that information comes from, and how it's shared. It would give people the power to ask for their data to be deleted and to order businesses to stop selling their personal information. It places limits on selling data on users younger than 16 years of age, and prohibits businesses from denying service to users for exercising their rights under the bill.
"All these new technologies are able to gather information about where you are, when you are, what your heart rate is,"
a legislator said. "It's critical that government is on its toes."
"Suffer the little children"
In October, while Pope Frances was addressing the Italian Olympic team,
Gemma Pompili, a 5-year-old little girl with Down's Syndrome, presented
the pope with some Special Olympics-branded training shoes then little Gemma
pontaneously climbed into the chair behind the Pope.
While her parents attempted to stop her doing so, she shook her head and called out ‘Papa!” to attract the attention of Pope Francis.
He took her hand and continued with his speech.
Pres Trump wants a Space Force
President Donald Trump has directed the Department of Defense to
create a Space Force as the sixth branch of the U.S. military, alongside
the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.
“We are going to have the Air Force and we are going to
have the Space Force, separate but equal,” Trump said at a White House
meeting of the National Space Council. “It is going to be something so
important.”
He called on Marine General Joseph Dunford,
chairman of the joint Chiefs of Staff, to carry out the assignment and
Dunford accepted the job on the spot.
The idea of creating a separate Space Force to
focus on national space security has been around for years, but gathered
momentum after Trump took office.
Green Gems fall from the Sky
Meteorologist Erin Jordan of Tucson, Arizona reports that friends in
Hawai have sent her pictures of green stones which have fallen from the
sky. Her explanation is that the shiny green crystals are olivine, used
as the gemstone peridot, the sandy crystals that make up Hawaii’s green beaches.
Popular Mechanics reports that the falling crystals are inside the lava erupting into the sky
from the Kilauea volcano. As the lava cools, it hardens into pumice. Being full of holes and fairly lightweight, the pumice falls slowly, allowing the olivine crystals to drop out of the holes and fall separately.
Televangelist wants $54 mil private jet
Jesse Duplantis, a prosperity gospel televangelist from Louisiana says Jesus has asked him to buy a new private jet. And wouldn't you know it, Jesus has real nice taste in planes.
He already owns three other private jets, but he is asking his followers to chip in
to purchase a brand new Dassault Falcon 7X, for about $54 million. Duplantis says the planes get him closer to the Lord - and he had a divine conversation in which Jesus asked for the new aircraft by name.
"It was one of the greatest statements the Lord ever told me, he said, 'Jesse do you want to come up where I'm at?'" the minister says. "'I want you to bleed me for a Falcon 7X.'"
By "bleed," Duplantis -- er, Jesus -- apparently meant "ask for donations."
Duplantis goes on to tell his followers that jets, especially nice ones with good fuel efficiency, allow him and his ministries to reach more people around the world.
Duplantis publishes a photo of him standing beside his other three jets. Under the portrait is a quote, which he proudly reiterates: "It's
not about possessions, it's about priorities."
Is Google Evil now?
Google has decided to remove Don’t be evil from its code of conduct. Does it mean that Google is going to start being evil or does it simply mean that it was never more than
a marketing tool? An empty phrase designed
to let us know that Google is one of the good guys. The new code of conduct
is more than mere fluf. It is a bit beefier and explicitly mentions
respect for users, which could be a good thing. Let's see what
happens.
Brad Steiger Dies
One time Valley resident, Brad Stieger died in
hospice in Mason City, Iowa, May 6, 2018, at the age
of 82. He was born as Eugene E. Olson on February 19, 1936, at
the Fort Dodge (Iowa) Lutheran Hospital during a blizzard. In his long career he penned over 2000 articles on paranormal
subjects and authored or co-authored over 175 books, both fiction
and non-fiction, which have sold 17 million copies. For a number of
years Steiger lived in Scottsdale with his second wife Francene.
With his columns, many books and articles and appearances on
paranormal radio shows and podcasts, Steiger attracted countless
fans, widespread admiration and, of course, some criticism. That
comes with the territory when the territory includes Atlantis, giant
humans, ancient aliens and numerous other controversial paranormal
topics he wrote and talked about. He leaves behind his third wife, Sherry Hansen Steiger, two sons,
three daughters, and ten grandchildren.
Bob "Larceny" with new gimmick
Televangelist
Bob Larson has found a new con. In the 90s, Larson focussed his
attacks on all sorts of groups including Witches, New Agers, Mormons
and homosexuals. His radio programs consisted of him lying about
their beliefs and distorting Bible verses. Often he would
furiously yell as guests, trying to convert them and then begging
for money. Bob Larceny as he as called by those who heard his radio
program, has now come up with a new con: "For only $9.95 you can
take a test and find out if you are possessed by a demon." And for a
"modest donation" of $295 you can arrange for Larson himself to
perform an exorcism on you over skype. His talk show was eventually
cancelled in 2001 amid allegations of financila mismanagement and
affairs with female staffers. In 2008 Larson claimed Buffy the Vampire Slayer
was a documentary shot in real time. A decade ago, his daughter
Bryne, having taken up the "family businessthrough her "Teen Girl
Exorcism Squad", ranted about Harry Potter books and sexually
transmitted demons. Larson currently operates under the name: Spiritual
Freedom Church, located in Scottsdale. He continues to deceive
gullible suckers with his expensive workshops and online courses
through which he sells his videos, books and gimmicks such as his
"cross of deliverance."(see photo above) His prime focus is on
exorscims and "deliverance" from "demonic possession and multiple
personality disorder". Thankfully, Bob Larson's influence is
waining, but his efforts are still is of concern because he is
targetting people with real mentla illnesses.
Vatican holds exorcism school
The tenth annual course on exorcism got off a bang in Rome, with a
full house of 170 students eager to learn how to recognize and
fight demonic possession. Sponsored by the Vatican, the weeklong
course took place in the European University of Rome from April 13
to 18. The course was aimed at giving priests and pastoral workers
what they need to recognize and deal with cses of demonic
possession and how to distinguish them from psychological or
medical disturbances. Father Pedro Barrajon, the organizer of the
program, said that the exceptonal interest in the course reflects a
growing awareness of the activity of the devil in the world and the
most common action of Satan in our lives is not possesssion, but
rather temption, "something we all experience."

Robot to reveal pyramid secrets
French researchers are building an exploration robot that is set to reveal the secrets of mystery chambers inside the Great Pyramid of Giza.
The new robot will be able to squeeze into a long narrow passage that leads to the inner chambers and see what's been hiding in there for 4,500 years.
In November the existence of a
100-foot long void located deep inside the pyramid was disclosed by a team of international researchers.
The gigantic void is situated above the Grand Gallery and its purpose is unclear. The discovery was made using "cosmic-ray imaging", a technique which records the behaviour of muons, subatomic particles produced when cosmic rays collide with Earth's atmosphere.
Now scientists want to find out why the chambers were built in the first place.
30 years ago, E. Hubbard, a local psychic, channeled a message from
a 19th century archaeologist who said the designer of the Great
Pyramid was a genius who died before the pyramid was completed and
whose mummy was placed in the special chamber along with artifacts
and records. We'll see if he was correct.

Art Bell dies, paranormal radio host
The Art Bell, hosted of the a popular paranormal radio show for
decades, died at the age of 72, April, Friday the 13th, appropriately enough. He started out as a disc jockey but veered into the realm of conspiracy theories and the paranormal. He espoused his belief in alien abductions, ghosts, crop circles report — and even that the Hale-Bopp comet that neared the Earth in 1986 was being followed by a UFO.
Soon, his late-night show “Coast to Coast” gained national syndication and allowed him to broadcast from his own Pahrumpm
Nevada, based radio station. At the height of his fame, as many as 500 stations carried his show in the U.S. and Canada. Bell displayed the even-keeled tone and that made his out-there theorizing seem so reasonable and inviting.
“People are always demanding proof,” he told King at one point. “These are things that are not easily proved.”.

Pope Francis explains hell
Meeting a group of children and teens during a Rome parish visit
several years ago, a female Scout asked the pope, "If God forgives everybody, why does hell exist?"
The pope praised the question, saying it was "a good and difficult question."
The pope assured the children that God is good but reminded them that there was also a "very proud angel, very proud,
very intelligent, and he was envious of God. Do you understand? He wanted God's place. And God wanted to forgive him, but he said,
'I don't need your forgiveness. I am good enough!' This is hell: It is telling God, 'You take care of yourself because I'll take care of myself.' They don't send you to hell,
you go there because you choose to be there. Hell is wanting to be distant from God because
you do not want God's love. This is hell.
Do you understand?"

Scam warning!
We have just learned about a new phone scam. You receive a call
from someone whosays they are calling from the Social Security
Administration. They say: "Your Social Security account has been
compromised and will be revoked TODAY unless you call this number."
They then give a 916 phone number. Don't worry. This is a
scam. Did you notice, they didn't ask for you by name. They are
robot-calling phone numbers. The government usually notifies by
mail. If the government ever does call, they will ask for you by name.

Store ends its mission after 50 years
The idea of the Alpha Book Center arose in the mind of Rev. Dr. John E.
